SUSTAINABILITY AND STEWARDSHIP
Sustainability is a requirement of our generation to manage resources so the quality of life we enjoy today can be shared with future generations to come. We see the concept and practice of stewardship as the responsible overseeing and protection of something we consider worth caring for and preserving.
We at IMC Outdoor Living view sustainability and stewardship as two founding principles that work in harmony with one another – protect the world we have today and preserve it for those in the near and distant future.
To date, we have recycled more than 500,000,000 pounds of rubber which is equivalent to more than 31,000,000 tires. If we did not give these tires a second life they would have gone to our increasingly over crowded landfills. We could not be more proud of this accomplishment. When we started creating and manufacturing products made from recycled tires the United States was littered with tire piles and landfills pushed to the brink. By purchasing recycled products like ours, you the consumer, have helped almost eliminate in just a decade what took our country almost a half century to create.
Our natural and organic line of plant foods was borne from a need to protect the environment from nutrient runoff and future flocks from disease raised on family farms. Through an industry-best composting process, these plant foods are recognized as the gold standard by both home and commercial growers. The complete line of Burpee plant foods, soils and amendments are OMRI listed for organic use, the most stringent and comprehensive certification a product can achieve. All of our ingredients that we use in our natural and organic soils are eco-friendly, sustainable and reusable, giving us yet another opportunity to recycle.
The level of commitment we have at IMC Outdoor Living toward making our world a better place is reflected in the products that we manufacture and the consumers across North America that are looking to become better stewards of the land.
